Who ever came up with the game, analogy, or time waster of connect the dots is a genius.
People all over the world understand the meaning “Connect The Dots”, except leaders.
Leaders give vision. Teams drive mission. Leaders pulse position.
Proverbs 27:23 instructs us to “..know the state of our flock..”
If we don’t know where we are, then we will never know where to go.
When leaders see the final destination of a vision, it can be difficult for teams to drive the mission unless they have a path to follow.
Leaders Connect Dots.
Know where you want to go and then tell the team how you’re going to get there.
- Where is this going to happen?
- Who’s cooking hot dogs?
- How is money going to be accepted?
- What day and who is going to lead the teams?
Now that you have all those answers, who are you going to tell? Are the proper people informed? If the answer is no, then you didn’t connect the dots.
In a vision meeting with interested people about the new startup you feel called to launch you have to connect the dots.
Explain to me how the “prophetic dot” connects with the “practical dot”. Tell me how you see us taking the “present dot” and building a bridge with the “potential dot” you’ve seen as the leader.
Connect the dots and watch a bigger picture come to life.
