New Year, New Things..
I think everyone loves a new year because it finally gives opportunity to start something that could of been started at anytime before the new year. As Christians, we love anything new because it ties us in to the very core of what our faith stands upon, something new. (Jesus only know new.)
This week I’m going to be posting some new things that we will be doing this year that we’ve been thinking about for many months now. In September we started asking questions about different procedures, events, ideas, goals, etc… We started asking questions that really mattered and that would give us the real answers we need to continue our growth. (Side Note: If you’re not growing you’re not living. Everything that has life has growth.)
Even after 3 months of asking questions and getting ready for the year, I’ve started off the first week of this year locked up and putting muscle behing the methods we’ve been talking about. Leaders lead. If leaders don’t know where they are going there’s a great chance the people following don’t know either.
“Andrew, aren’t you wasting a bunch of time? Just get out there and do it!!”
I believe in the time that we waste “changing things” we could of thought everything out to begin with and minimizing the changing time to planning time.
Teams don’t handle change well. They get frustrated, confused, and irritated. It’s the same feeling of standing at customer service for a 2 min project that ends up being 2 hours. You’ll find yourself saying things like, “I didn’t sign up for this.” I believe, as leaders, it’s our job to keep that phrase from coming out. We didn’t sign up, we had the opportunity of a lifetime placed at our feet to take Jesus to a generation.
I hope you will join me this week as we look at the different areas and new things we are doing to help take the way we do life to the next level.
